I joined combat fitness a couple of months ago. I really wanted to back into shape and have always wanted to do bjj. I knew Jesse from wrestling, that really made me feel comfortable right off of the bat. But I soon realized everyone at this gym was very friendly and I felt at home during my first practice. The system at combat is organized very well. No matter what sport, skill level, or times you are available, this system should have something that works for you. The last thing I would like to talk about are the coaches. I really enjoy every coach I have had here. They are all skilled and knowledgeable in their crafts. They all teach us in there own ways, so learning the same moves from different coaches help you master the moves quicker. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I won’t be leaving anytime soon.

I began training at CF in August of 2015. Coming in I had no wrestling or martial arts background, I was a gym rat that trained at the big name gyms in town. I was finally sick of seeing the fashion show and egos that come with those places. Walking into CF for the first time was a bit intimidating, I had checked out other MMABJJ gyms in town and didn’t feel like I fit in at those places. CF was different, I recognized people from different places I hung out and was immediately greeted and everyone made sure I knew where to go and who to talk to. I had an interest in Jiu-Jitsu and took my first class with Coach Jesse. I’m a bigger and slower guy so I didn’t know how this was going to workout. The group classes are a broad lesson of techniques, but as you
work through the drills, the coaches adjusted techniques for my body type and fight style. I was immediately hooked. After a while I added Striking with Coach Mike Ransom and More BJJ with Coach Brad. Everything about this gym is great, especially the coaches, but the best part is No Egos. Everyone supports each other and wants to see progression. Combat Fitness is top notch.

I have been looking for a good gym to train different fighting styles in for a while now and have recently found Combat Fitness. The first time I came in I was skeptical, just like every other gym I’ve checked out. Once I watched some classes and got to know some of the people who attend and work there, I was feeling more and more confident that Combat Fitness was the place I wanted to train. The experience that I had before I came to combat fitness was a little bit of karate and wrestling and since I joined, I have been exposed to many new styles of martial arts that I have always wanted to try.
