Briley Streeter (3-0 MMA, 2-0 FSF) ran his record to 3-0 when he locked horns with Tryston Hutchinson (2-1 MMA, 1-1 FSF) in a bantamweight matchup between two young prospects. Streeter begins the fight moving well from the outside, using long punches and kicks to keep the shorter Hutchinson at bay. Hutchinson manages to catch a Streeter kick, but is met with several hard right hands to the face from Streeter while hanging on to the single leg, before hustling Streeter to the ground. Streeter quickly closes his guard and begins climbing his legs to control posture. Hutchinson backs away and the fight returns to standing. A knee from Streeter is countered with another Hutchinson takedown. Streeter again regains guard and moves to a leglock, forcing Hutchinson to once more retreat back to his feet. A Hutchinson takedown attempt is denied by Streeter and the two spent the remaining seconds of the round clinched against the cage. Round two sees Streeter deny a low single leg attempt by Hutchinson who quickly re-attacks with a double leg after absorbing a right hand from Streeter that bloodies his nose. Hutchinson secures the hips and slams Streeter to the ground, but again finds himself inside his opponent’s closed guard. Streeter begins to isolate Hutchinson’s left arm before transitioning to a tight triangle choke. Hutchinson fights the hold, but is ultimately forced to submit! Fantastic performance by Streeter who has won all three of his fights via submission!

Up next was one of the newer members of SBG Idaho, Matt Cantwell (3-0 MMA, 1-0 FSF), who also remained undefeated with a first round submission victory over Tanner Chapman (5-5 MMA, 0-2 FSF) in a lightweight tilt. The shorter Cantwell closes the distance quickly on Chapman, who lands a short right hand that opens a cut above Cantwell’s left eye. Pinning Chapman to the cage, Cantwell manages to secured a double leg on Chapman, who quickly closes his guard as they landed. Cantwell sets about attempting to pass, but loses control of Chapman’s hips and finds himself in a deep triangle choke. Things look bleak, but Cantwell remains calm, stepping his free leg over the head of Chapman to gain the necessary leverage to break the hold and secure side control. Cantwell methodically moves to mount and begins landing strong punches that force Chapman to turn away and give up his back. Cantwell works briefly to slide the arm under the chin and  secure the submission with six seconds remaining in the round!

The first professional match of the evening saw Ben Hollier (3-0 MMA, 1-0 FSF) step in on a week’s notice to cruise to a unanimous decision over Doug Collins (0-1 MMA, 0-1 FSF) in a featherweight scrap. All three rounds were virtually identical, with Hollier utilizing an active kicking game to draw Collins’ guard up and disguise quick level changes that he was able to convert to easy takedowns. From there it was all Hollier, who was able to posture in guard, pass to half guard, side control, and mount, dishing out punishment with fists and elbows all the way through. Collins demonstrated impressive defense and toughness however, as he managed to survive and improve his position each time Hollier began to close in on a finish. Final scored were 30-26. 20-26, and 30-25 for Hollier who also moved up in weight for the contest.

In the evening’s co-main event, SBG Idaho lightweight Darrell Flores (7-5 MMA, 1-1 FSF) put an emphatic end to his rivalry with Kerry Lattimer (14-23 MMA, 0-3 FSF) with a brutal first round TKO. Flores starts the bout light on his toes, avoiding Lattimer’s early punches with deft head movement. A lead left hook and a strong low kick land for Flores, and again shortly after. Flores counters a low kick attempt from Lattimer by sweeping his leg and dropping him to the ground. Lattimer stands quickly, clinching with Flores. Flores attempts to throw, but Lattimer reacts well, dropping his hips low, and catching Flores on his own back. As Flores turns to his belly and stands, Lattimer quickly takes the back with both hooks. Flores remains calm, however, and walks to his own corner. Lattimer attacks the rear naked choke but gets too high and falls off. Flores quickly passes to side control, then mount, and the route is on. Alternating between mount and back control, Flores lets his fists and elbows fly, while attacking the neck when the opportunity arises. With 28 seconds remaining, and Lattimer pinned on his belly, absorbing some brutal ground and pound, referee Nate Decker is forced to stop the fight! The victory marks a triumphant return to the cage for Flores after a four year hiatus.

In the evening’s main event, SBG Idaho undefeated welterweight Kyle Frost (4-0 MMA, 3-0 FSF) made short work of Montana’s Gage Saunders (5-2 MMA, 0-1 FSF) with a first round submission. Frost counters an early knee attempt from Saunders with a quick takedown. Saunders closes his guard and attacks with elbows from his back. Frost wisely postures and begins landing hard strikes from the standing to ground position. Saunders uses an attempted leglock to scramble to his knees, but Frost quickly spins behind and secures back control. Frost remains patient, using short punches and excellent wrist control to work his left arm under the chin of Saunders. Once there, Frost rolls Saunders to his side and applies hip pressure to draw the tap. In his post fight interview, Frost calls for a future welterweight title shot!
